Starrup allows actors, models, and other entertainers to maintain their own website without a middle man. Entertainers can signup for a free plan to try the intuitive interface, and upgrade to a paid plan to use a custom domain name.

The Gnomon School of Visual Effects

Functioning as the architect and ongoing maintainer of Gnomon’s online school system, I rewrote the site from scratch, scaling the Ruby on Rails back end to stream high definition videos to students.

Using software development best practices such as automated regression testing, development time on new features was reduced from weeks to hours.

Thumber - A movie Thumbnailer

Thumber is an app for Mac OS X Leopard that creates these Cinema Redux photos, montages of movies created by taking a snapshot of a film a one second intervals.

Thumber has been featured on several notable blogs, including Kottke and Waxy.

Mogopop

Mogopop was a web based publishing service that allowed users to create iPod-ready multimedia content. Using an intuitive, point-and-click editor, users could author miniature websites for their iPod. This was accomplished with a free “Mogopop Manager,” software that connected to iTunes to sync text, photos, and videos.

AOL HiQ - Windows Media Center Edition

In early 2006, AOL decided to bring its high definition p2p video streaming service to “Windows: Media Center Edition.” Zetools was contracted to complete the Rich Interface client application. Benjamin Sandofsky was one of three developers on the project, interfacing with an ActiveX to grid-stream content.


Tsavo Media

Founded by the former Senior VP of AOL, Tsavo Media is a growing blog network that serves tens of thousands of unique visitors a month. Readying for launch, they needed a scalable platform for embedding videos and photos in their network.

With limited time, resources, and budget, the required widgets were written and launched on a cloud platform, with an intuitive interface for administrators.
